The best advice I can give to new Mines' students is:

1)  Have an outlet.  You need something to do besides math and science.  Maybe it's video games, or varsity, club or intramural sports, or band, or choir, or some other club or . . .

2) Park your pride, and your embarassment.  It's ok to be proud of the fact you've been admitted and are coming to CSM.  But don't think you can get through CSM by yourself.  You need study groups.  Don't be too proud, or too ashamed, to visit faculty and TA office hours.  We're here to help.  If you already knew it all, you wouldn't be here.  One-on-one interactions are much different than classroom questions and answers.  If you come to office hours, or make another appointment to see us, we'll help you out.  But you need to come in first.

Summer

A time to rejuvenate, rest, and celebrate. A time for you - as the student - to fully reflect on all that you've just accomplished. From all of us in Academic Services, we are proud of you!

Changes to Academic Services

We are always busy in the summer - prepping for the year upcoming.

But this summer is particularly unique with the establishment of the Center for Academic Services & Advising (CASA).

Summer Academic Services

There may be fewer students on campus...but classes are still in full swing! We offer many of the same academic services over the summer.

Tutoring runs from Monday through Wednesday. Please click "Tutoring" above for further information. And if you are struggling, never hesitate to check out Academic Coaching with Colin!
